Immersive and Interactive Tools for Teaching High School Chemistry

July 13 – 17, 2026 | 10am – 3pm

The Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) at UT Austin is hosting a week-long summer workshop to bring together a cohort of teachers to learn about immersive/interactive technologies used to support concepts related to bonding and reactivity in the classroom. Teachers will work with TACC staff to develop curriculum using these technologies for use in their classrooms the following year. Follow-up support and assistance in using these technologies in the classroom will be provided.

Important Information

$3500 stipend: $1500 Summer 26, $1000 Fall 26 $1000 Spring 27.

Travel support available.

Tech Package: Quest3 VR headset, MakeyMakey and VR ready laptop.

Applicants are expected to attend all sessions in-person and virtual: 

• Summer 2026 - 1 week in person
• 26/27 School Year - monthly virtual follow-up
