Elaine Soares joined the Texas Advanced Computing Center in June 2025 as a Computer Science Education Specialist. In this role, she develops and delivers professional-development workshops teachers across Texas, designs curriculum resources, and supports districts in integrating computer science into their instructional programs. Previously, Elaine taught Computer Science at Stephen F. Austin High School (Fort Bend ISD) from 2022–2025, where she led advanced Computer Science courses, supervised the Computer Science Honor Society, and coached students in programming competitions. A native to Brazil, she relocated to Houston in 2019 after earning her Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Master’s in Decision Making and Health from the Federal University of Paraíba.
