Amy Wiseman began working with TACC Evaluation team in 2025 on a project examining Algebra 1 as a potential STEM course gatekeeper, and she formally joined TACC as an Evaluation Researcher in 2026. Amy has over 25 years of experience in research and evaluation, including 14 years conducting research centered on student success across the PK-16 pipeline, with STEM as the primary focus. Most recently, she was at Texas State University where she examined leaks in the Texas teacher pipeline. Prior to that she was at the Education Research Center at The University of Texas at Austin where she evaluated PK-12 factors that predicted earning a Bachelors in STEM. In her previous work at the education nonprofit E3 Alliance, her findings led the Texas Legislature to mandate the top 40% of math students statewide take Algebra in middle school, to fund full-day prekindergarten for 175,000 students a year from low-income families, and for E3 Alliance to spearhead a multi-year school-based flu immunization program in 350 elementary schools.
