Create an Account

Fill out the account request form on the TACC Account Management Portal and it will be reviewed by our User Services team.

Faculty, professional research staff, and postdoctoral researchers may request Principle Investigator (PI) eligibility for their account. PIs are responsible for requesting system allocations and managing their team.

Graduate and undergraduate students can create an account, but must be added to allocations by PIs to use the systems.

Request an Allocation

To access a system, you must request through an allocation opportunity.

Browse the System List, Allocations, and Software List to help determine what system and allocation fits your research.

If you are a PI, log into your account and request an allocation on the system that fits your research needs.

Stockyard Maintenance Outage - June 17-19

Starting June 17th, TACC will be performing routine maintenance on all systems that utilize Stockyard. Please note, as Stockyard is connected to all systems, any and all systems will be impacted by this maintenance outage:FronteraLonestar6Stampede3VistaUpdates on $WORK are expected to take longer than the typical, single day maintenance window. In order to reduce the impact on users, we will be unmounting Stockyard on all systems. All other filesystems will remain available. In order to continue running during this maintenance period, you must migrate all necessary files from $WORK to $SCRATCH.Files and workflows must be moved prior to June 17th. Once the outage begins, Stockyard will be entirely inaccessible until the end of maintenance.Full post about the work being done is here - https://tacc.utexas.edu/news/user-updates/107577/

Vista GH Nodes Unavailable June 17-18, 2025

The Grace Hopper nodes in the gh and gh-dev queues will be unavailable after the maintenance on Jun 17 through June 18. These nodes will be reserved for large scale benchmarking while the /work filesystem is unavailable. The queues will be restored when the benchmarking completes. This will be no later than June 19. Please submit any questions you may have via the TACC User Portal. https://tacc.utexas.edu/portal/tickets

Maintenance and Stockyard Outage

DATE CORRECTION: Stockyard Maintenance will be June 17th - 19th 2025Starting June 17th, TACC will be performing routine maintenance on all systems that utilize Stockyard. Once the outage begins, Stockyard will be entirely inaccessible until the end of maintenance. The Stockyard maintenance window will comprise three sections. Details are below.Day one of Stockyard maintenance will commence on June 17, 2025 at 08:00. Any and all systems will be placed into a maintenance window to disconnect $WORK, and Stockyard administrators will begin their tasks. Additional maintenance activities may be performed as well on affected systems. Once $WORK has been disconnected and any additional maintenance finished, said systems should resume operations by 20:00, provided that they're able to function without $WORK being active.Day two of Stockyard maintenance will be ongoing. As production clusters return to production, systems will be fully available except for the /work filesystem.Day three of Stockyard maintenance should be completed. Once confirmed, systems administrators will be notified and $WORK will be mounted across all systems.Once maintenance is complete, users may return to their typical workflows that make use of Stockyard. If maintenance is completed early, an update will be posted at that time.Have questions? Contact support here: https://tacc.utexas.edu/portal/tickets
